From left, Steve Nebel, Susan Gilmour, Kristi Nebel and David Gilmour stand regularly at the entrance to the Farmer's Market in downtown Tacoma with signs and homemade puppets to protest the war in Iraq. They are part of United for Peace of Pierce County which nonviolently opposes the reliance on unilateral military actions rather than cooperative diplomacy. UFPPC collectively protests against the Iraq war, and endorses that the U.N. should take the lead in the Iraq war. Alison Yin/The News Tribune

Today I went to the Farmer's Market and the place where the Iraq war protesters was blocked by vehicles. I asked a gentleman manning the Farmer's Market booth what happened to the protesters.

After a bit of banter, he admitted the Market decided to park the vehicles there to prevent the protesters from assembling because people complained they were offensive.
