The Flipbook

I don't usually post other people's work, except, well, I'm making an exception. Below is a project on Iraqi Kurdistan where all the content was collected by Ed Kashi and then put together by Brian Storm and others from his MediaStorm team. This project is worthy of a post for several reasons:

1. The Kurds are where my journalistic interests began, back in 2000, sophomore modern history class. Learning of the plight of the Kurds led to Amnesty Internation which led to human rights activism which led to journalism which led to photojournalism. Bam.

2. The project belongs to Ed Kashi, who is a photographer for National Geographic and was my team leader at the Eddie Adams Workshop. He's been caring about the Kurds for a long time, so kudos to Ed.

3. The project is produced by MediaStorm, one of my favorite web sites because of its innovative ways of telling stories and its consistently top notch content. It also marks the one-year anniversary of the company!

OK, enjoy!

Thanksgiving in Astoria

Last week I went to Oregon for the first time to spend Thanksgiving with Adm and his family at his sister's home in Astoria, OR. It was a perfect vacation.

Digging in the Archives

From a summer day in Yosemite. There was a bear, and I took pictures, I promise, I just can't find them at the moment.....
But I did find a chimper.
