Chaos into Order


Sunday, July 8, 2007, 6th Avenue in Tacoma, Wash., held an event called "Art on the Ave" to feature performance art, art-making, music, and promote the local art scene. Lloyd Herman, 71, read aloud three different speeches by former Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Carter all about peace. Herman performed as part of "Chaos into Order," a performance art group promoting an overall message of peace and order. He orates beneath a sculpture of crumpled newspapers sewn onto ribbon, which was made Sunday at the event. Alison Yin/The News Tribune

Mariner's Manager Mike Hargrove's farewell


Mike Hargrove resigns as general manager of the Seattle Mariners on the morning of Sunday, July 1, 2007. Bench coach John McLaren will replace Hargrove. Hargrove started his career with the Mariners with a win, and he ended it with a win against the Toronto Jays in Safeco field.
